Meet Joanna Jacobson

Everyone deserves to be heard.

Everyone deserves to be validated.

I am here to facilitate your personal and relational growth towards (a) who you want to be, and (b) what it is that you cherish most in life.

I specialize in intimacy issues for both couples and individuals with over a decade of experience in treating trauma and addiction.

Because at its core addiction IS an intimacy disorder, I relish the opportunity to dig into which specific patterns, behaviors, and ideas, might be keeping you from achieving a greater union with both yourself and your partner.

Modalities and training that I actively use in working with clients.

  • Acceptance and Commitment
    Coaching
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Person-Centered Therapy
  • Psychological Testing and Evaluation
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Strength-Based Therapy
  • Therapeutic Intervention

I am pragmatic and practical, aiming to get you moving in the right direction in a very safe, therapeutic environment.

I have an at home office in Palmetto Bay that allows me to see clients safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I also see clients via Telehealth, FaceTime, and Zoom.

I’ve worked as social worker and supervisor at Jackson Crisis Center, the Miami VA, Mount Sinai, and Doctors Hospital.

I received my Bachelors from Boston University in Communication and Public Relations with a Minor in Psychology.

I previously worked in New York as a lifestyle, beauty, and fitness Public Relations Account Executive.

I earned my Masters of Social Work from Florida Atlantic University.

I’ve always known that I want to help people work on themselves.

I’m a recovered alcoholic of 11 years and recently a new mother. I have extensive experience in self-care, positive self-affirmations, meditation, and spirituality.

It would be an honor and pleasure to work with you individually or as a couple.
