Miami Couples Therapist Morgan Hartman LMHC

Relationships, addictions, and mal-adaptive coping, communication blocks, struggles to live life on life’s terms… These are things most of us face at one point or another. In all the uncertainty, one thing is true; You don’t have to face challenging moments alone!

My name is Morgan Hartman and I received my BA in Art at Illinois Wesleyan University and then my master’s degree in Art Therapy from Illinois State University. I am a Licensed Counselor in both Florida and Illinois.  In my academic studies, I was able to shape my deepest philosophy about finding creative ways to uplift people’s spirits, identify  problems and solutions, and put ideas into action. I am in recovery from alcoholism, a cancer survivor and a believer in taking each moment as it comes as a gift. As a student of yoga and meditation in my spare time, I further believe that wellness stems from our ability to maintain a fluid connection between mind-body-spirit.

I began working as a therapist in substance abuse treatment centers, and now currently in private practice from my home in Palmetto Bay, Florida. I see clients virtually for everyone’s safety. I previously worked as a territory and regional sales manager in fine wine distribution, a life-skills teacher for differently-abled adults, and an administrator for a non-profit arts organization.

My specialties include substance abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, stress, grief, relationship difficulties and life changes and challenges. I mainly use Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical-Behavioral techniques, with a person-centered, solution-focused approach. I often incorporate. 12-step, Gottman and Imago techniques too.

I guarantee a judgement-free environment full of empathy, hope and understanding. The counseling relationship is critical, and I hope to earn your trust swiftly and earnestly!
